In the night of Tokyo, mysterious deaths involving the 'Reborn Dead' occur. Mysterious transfer student, Hiyuu Tatsuma, and delinquent student, Houraiji Kyouichi, fight these undead every night. They, along with the rest of their group, soon realize that a greater threat, that involves even more powerful demons, is near.

The team has to fight against a dark assassination organisation made for killing. The organisation is known as the 'Dancing Swords' they gather up people with good fighting skills and awaken power just like Hiyuu's and everyones in order to assassinate others only making those who live above the law doing evil as their targets. Hiyuu, Misato, Houraiji, Sakurai and Daigo are attacked by these fighters from the organisation and have to fight against them...
I'll refer to this as Act 2 from now on.
Originally released in North America by ADV, which made it to the release of volume 3 (episodes 10-13) before the company filled for bankruptcy. It was later that same year (2008) that Funimation released the series in 2 parts. Making it annoying for anyone who had already bought the first 3 volumes from ADV since Part 1 included episodes 1 - 14 (14 being the OVA episode tacked onto the end of the first season) & Part 2 was episodes 15-26 otherwise known as Act 2.
