Here's my take on the series:

It's the later have of the 21st century, Mankind has basically destroyed themselves and earth, due to their rash actions. A decision had to be made, to preserve the human race as well as the Earth. This was done by using Genetic Engineering, with a 1:9 ratio, one man for every 9 women. This choice was made since males were historically more aggressive then females. Not only is the population artificially balanced, but it is Love or the desire for Power, seemingly a stable society.

It is now the middle of the 23rd century. The people are now artificially engineered with the skills needed for the survival & prosperity of the Human race. Along with these skills each person has a specific GENE TYPE, identified by a colour. Enter the unknown to disturb the order of things, a gigantic ring of unknown origin. It first appeared when a research team discovered the ruins of an Ancient alien civilization, on the moon of Ganymede [one of Jupiter's Moons]. That Ring remains hanging above the Earth doing nothing, or at least that is what it seems. The Ring is actually relaying information about humanity back to its creator. On the Space Station Marcanan, a group of women with specific abilities are being gathered for a TOP-SECRET MISSION called: “S MISSION.” The "S MISSION" is to track down the source of the RING, and destroy them (rings, and the source). To do this mission they are given a ship called: THE BILKIS, and a mecha [large robot] called: "THE SHAFT" both of which were constructed using the technology found at the ruins on Ganymede. Piloting THE SHAFT is no simple task, with a program not yet complete and full of bugs, 5 girls with specific skills and abilities are selected, with the task of saving the Earth from this alien threat.
