Throughout the passage of time and the shifts in backgrounds, a particular war continues to leave its mark on history, extending its influence into the modern world. There are two major groups involved in the ensuring war. The first group consists of monsters known as Chiropterans who can change their appearances into that of human beings. They are actually immortals who feed on the blood of the living. The second group is an organization known as the "Red Shield", formed to track down these monsters and exterminate them. Otonashi Saya is a high-school girl who lives a peaceful life with her family. The only problem is, she has no recollections of her life beyond that of the past year. However, her happy life will be destroyed by an event that will lead her to her destined fate.

Remember the movie Blood: The Last Vampire?
Well this is the series of the movie. Only (thankfully) it's nothing like it.
Much more enjoyable, less dull, boring and depressing.

NA Release News: A special collectors Edition will be released at the same time as the standard Vol 1 DVD release containing episodes 1 - 5. This collections edition will be priced around $120, and contain the first 25 episodes of the series.

Someone forgot to tell Sony, that Closed Caption for the hearing Impaired is not the same as Subtitles for those wishing to watch it in Japanese with the subs on. Thank you Sony, for making me wish I hadn't bought the official NA release of Part One of Blood+ (eps 1-25) I sure hope Yocchin's Interview on Disc 6 fairs better.
