Basquash! is a basketball sci-fi series with mecha.

No really, it is. The mecha referred to as a 'Bigfoot' is used to play basketball. Of course regular basketball is also played.

Planet is called Earthdash and the moon above them has a city called Mooneyes. Dan dreams of the day he can get to the moon with his sister Coco to get her the surgery that would allow her to use her
legs again. After a childhood accident where a BigFoot crushed them, left her paralyzed, while her and Dan were playing Basketball.

Renegade BigFoot Basketball isn't started until after Dan JD starts it. But this series isn't just about BFB there's much more to the story.
